Kershaw vs. White Sox

White Sox Dodgers Spring Baseball

This is Clayton Kershaw’s fourth start against the Chicago White Sox, but his first start on the Sox home turf in Chicago.  He is 1-1 with a 4.00 ERA versus the Chicago White Sox.

The Dodgers are all kinds of hot going into this series:

Pantone 29-4 over the last 33 games.

Lost to an NL opponent once in the past 33 games.

55-18 since Cody Bellinger joined the club.

39-6 when both Justin Turner and Cody Bellinger start the game.

Swept eleven series this year, including the last three straight.

Won nine straight going into today’s game.

  2. Sure wish they’d quit treating Forsythe like he can hit.

Everything is going for the boys going into the game, so being baseball, this is probably one they’ll lose.

    • Forsythe splits (BA/OBP/SLG/OPS):

      Career vs. RHP .239/.316/.346/.662
      Career vs. LHP .287/.358/.486/.844

2017 vs. RHP .180/.296/.219/.515 in 152 plate appearances
2017 vs. LHP .383/.500/.600/1.100 in 76 plate appearances

.219 slugging percentage against RHP! Includes 2 doubles and 1 HR in 152 plate appearances. Wimpy Wimpy Wimpy!

How Doc can bat him fifth against right-handed pitchers is beyond me. No wonder the opposing teams are pitching around Cody lately.

    • To highlight Forsythe’s ineptitude, I have changed the “Dodgers Lyrics Flashback” to that wonderful old song by The Beav, “Here Comes Wussybat”.

  3. Joc kills the rally with the double play, but let’s not forget that Wussybat stranded Corey on third base by not hitting the ball into the outfield with one out.

  4. The Dodger offense tonight looks like the first few weeks of the season when the big hit eluded them time after time. And Kershaw has had to work hard tonight to preserve the one run lead. Now it is up to the bullpen. I know it is unreasonable to expect to win every game but for the past month or so, that expectation has almost been met.

  5. That was Baez’s 13th HOLD to go along with Jansen’s 24th SAVE
Kershaw struggled but he proved to be the best..

  6. Offense really failed tonight. Again when Kersh goes to the hill…. 1 for 10 RISP. I just don’t get why the team cannot hit when Kersh is pitching…. The bottom of the order didn’t do squat…. We didn’t do jack against a pitcher with an era close to 5 coming in. Nice job by the bullpen….

And of course, Kersh is the man…..

    Still, Woo-Hoo!!! Win Streak!!!!!

    • It may be because we usually face the opponents best pitching or they bare down more when they face Kershaw. Maybe.

  7. This team doesn’t need to make any huge deals… Run what you brung…
The only thing I would like to see FAZ do is load up our bullpen…..
