Joc Jack

Joc-Pederson6

Joc Pederson has been hitting some home runs lately.  This really helps the team offense, since adding one more player to the power potentials makes the whole lineup more dangerous.

Since Joc came back from his concussion disabled list time, he has hit 6 home runs in 55 at-bats.  That’s just a Bellinger-esque 9.2 at bats per home run.

Joc Jack is hitting a very healthy .297/.426/.709/1.136 in the month of June.  That’ll play.

  1. Alex Wood is starting tonight in San Diego against lefty Clayton Richard, so Joc Jack will likely not be in the starting lineup. Expect him to be used as a pinch hitter against a right handed reliever. He may or may not on Saturday, but will definitely start on Sunday against Jhoulys Chacin.

  2. Dodgers have been on a roll lately. I’m gonna chock up the Angels split to a “hiccup”. It’s time to start another long winning streak, and get a going with a sweep of the Puds on their home turf! Why not?

  4. Wood Boat may not get lots of help from this offense. Crystal Blue is in a slump. Logan’s batting average after April has been below the Mendoza line. Trayce is still trying to prove he belongs on the MLB team.

…and Smooth Seager belongs on the field at shortstop.

  5. Dillon Overton will pitch for the Padres Saturday. What has Dillon done lately? What will he do for the Dodgers?

Last year, with the Oakland A’s he gave up 12 homers in 24 innings. This year in AAA, he gave up 10 homers in 32 innings.

Tomorrow it will be raining homers in Petco!

  6. Another odd moment this season: managers jawing at one another while discussing something with the umpire that clears the benches as Dave Roberts seems to challenge the Padre manager to a one on one. The result? Both managers tossed.

  7. I was going to comment on the Dodgers living and dying with the home run as well. Good article from fan side.

This team is starting to remind me of some of the Yankees teams of the early 60’s. If you got past the M&M boys and Berra you had to deal with Howard and Skowron waiting at the bottom. We have Pederson and Puig waiting down there.

    • A Dong’s a Dong!!

Seager has been pounding the gaps for a while now. Bellinger takes what they give him and has the bat speed to jump on mistakes. Turner is currently the best bat in baseball. Taylor is pretty versatile with the stick as well…

  8. To answer Joe Davis’ question about interleague play having runs its course: yes.
I am ok with playing a few games with natural geographic rivals but the current schedule creates inequities in matchups.

  9. If ever there was any doubt the Vin Scully era was over, all one had to do is listen as Joe and Orel asked fans on Twitter to name their top moment so far this season and then read the responses.

  10. I’m curious. When any of you were growing up, were you taught to steal signs. We were in SoCal and adult coaches would steal them and relay them to us in the batters box. Playing fast pitch in Utah and AZ it seemed to be normal as well, but that was 30plus years ago. It certainly doesn’t seem to be the norm now.

    • I thought it was natural to steal signs. Isn’t that why the catcher and pitcher would change up the signs with a man on 2nd?

Went to Minutemaid last night… jeez that Judge kid takes vicious swings. He didn’t connect with any, but damn, he’d likely cut someone in half if he did.

      • Minutemaid sounds ridiculous…but they all do.

        Ballgames a ballgame though 🙂

I have no clue who the Judge kid is…other than he’s a Yankee, he’s a rookie and he’s pacing himself with
