Angels – Dodgers in the O.C.

angels of anaheim

Tonight, the Freeway Series moves to Anaheim.  That’s in Orange County.  It’s not in Los Angeles.  It’s not even in Los Angeles County.  It’s Anaheim.  So call yourselves the California Angels or the Anaheim Angels, already.  Or the Orange Angels, if you wish.

Tonight Hyun-Jin Ryu goes up against Alex Meyer.  Will Corey Seager or Justin Turner or Yasiel Puig be ready for this one?  We’ll just have to wait for the lineup to come out.

Joc Pederson seems to be ready.  He’s been on an offensive tear of late.  Of course, Cody Bombay Bellinger is always ready.

  1. Lineup

    1. Chase Utley (L) 1B
    2. Joc Pederson (L) CF
    3. Justin Turner (R) 3B
    4. Cody Bellinger (L) DH
    5. Chris Taylor (R) SS
    6. Yasmani Grandal (S) C
    7. Logan Forsythe (R) 2B
    8. Yasiel Puig (R) RF
    9. Trayce Thompson (R) LF

Something tells me that Bellinger is a better defensive first baseman than Utley. So why not Utley as the DH?

  2. Grandal hit that home run as if he knew it was going to happen.

As a fan, I would be pissed if the opposing team’s fans “took over” the home stadium.

I read Plaschke’s column today; he is not the first to wonder if the crappy TV deal is hurting not just the AS vote but more importantly the brand. Of course, Magic Johnson arrogantly (and somewhat defiantly) such a claim last year. Perhaps Magic based his thinking on attendance, which Plaschke acknowledged has not been hurt. He still makes a good argument and calls out the Dodgers for whatever responsibility they may have.

  3. Unacceptable!!!!! Very bad baseball by our guys. It sucks to give away games like this…

Hopefully they learn from it. Especially Roberts. Put in a better defense late in a close game….

  4. Last night was a loss we have to turn the page to and forget about. We need to win and not depend on the Dbacks to lose and CK is just the guy to do it.

  5. You mean to tell me we can lose like that too?!?!?!!! Oh well, during the course of 162 plus (hopefully) games you’ll see something like that. Just once, I hope. And, like Catfish Hunter said, “The sun don’t shine on the same dogs ass everyday”. I think he was from the Carolinas and they have a different take on things down there.

  6. I think we just learned how valuable Corey Seager is as our regular shortstop. He would not have made the error that Chris Taylor made, putting Revere on the base paths in the ninth inning.

  7. Oh great Dodger in the sky, I pray that this Dodgers team in June is not the peak of their talent, but just a peek as to how much better they will be later in this season
