Kershawing the Barn Door

Clayton Kershaw will be starting the day game against the Giants.  That’s nice and everything, but the Dodgers already lost the series.  What’s the point?

“Oh, but it’s only May, and these games don’t count as much as the ones in September.”

Bullshit!  The season lasts 162 games.  You have got to give everything you’ve got to try and win each and every game.  Games in April and May count every bit as much as games in August and September.  Don’t be trotting out the crap lineups anymore.

Game time:  12:45pm PDT / 1:45 MDT / 2:45 CDT / 3:45 EDT

  1. Really? Are we back to 38 year old Uncle Utley batting leadoff? He better get on base early and often today. Plus, it’s high time he gives the kids (including Turner) classes in running the bases.

    1. Chase Utley (L) 1B
    2. Corey Seager (L) SS
    3. Justin Turner (R) 3B
    4. Cody Bellinger (L) LF
    5. Yasmani Grandal (S) C
    6. Chris Taylor (R) 2B
    7. Joc Pederson (L) CF
    8. Yasiel Puig (R) RF
    9. Clayton Kershaw (L) P

  2. The Giants, right now, are hot and are on a roll and hard to beat, especially against the Dodgers, there’s nobody better, for the Dodgers, right now, to go up against them than Kershaw, but the offense still has to step up and give him some run support against Cueto.

  3. I agree, every game counts, especially those against teams in your division. It just seems games late in the season mean more because we have forgotten the close one run losses earlier. It is a long season so it is easy (and sometimes necessary) to put yesterday’s or last week’s game out of the way. There is no way to explain why the Dodgers struggle so much against the Giants, especially at phone company park. Things just seem to go against the Dodgers but most of the time it is of their own making. Hopefully Kershaw can keep the Giants at bay and the Dodger offense will generate enough runs to win today’s game.

  4. Thank you, Giants, for the error and the wild pitch. ‘Cuz our offense and our manager don’t know how to score on their own. (Except for those two runs in the first inning.)

  5. Cueto a little pissed at grandal, then the chin music, and cueto comes up to bat and grandal and cueto are just talking like all is good. My thought cueto asks gradal is Kersh gonna hit me?

    • Eric Stephen on Twitter had all nine K’s on video. He looked to be a bit more refined than the hitters in that league.

  6. It still puzzles me that people get upset when you steel their signs. We were doing that in little league where I grew up, even more so once we got to Babe Ruth. I always thought it was part of the game.

    • and to avoid the stealing signs, Posey and cueto could of had a conference after Turner’s double to change it up, and giving away location, well that cant be stopped, the catchers glove is there for all to see. Im just glad the chin music became a WP and Dodgers scored

  7. I also do not understand why teams get upset when the opponent steals signs. Isn’t that why teams hide or change signs?

Your over/under on dingers given up by Ryu is in jeapardy.

  8. Sure did not think the Marlins would be held to 2 runs. Impressive outing from Jansen with striking out the side on 9 pitches including Ichiro.

Glad for the win but losing Turner could be the bigger story.
