  1. It will be interesting to see how the Dodgers fare defensively at phone company field after leaving Coors. The Dodgers split the four games, winning one on a rare Coors shut out while scoring enough runs in the two losses to win a “normal” game, if there is such a thing. And even in the two losses, one of which the Dodgers were down 10-0, a key hit here or there might have given the Dodgers a chance to win both of the losses. Oh well, that is the joy and frustration of baseball all in one series.

For the most part, the bullpen has been good the past two weeks. Romo and Hatcher have had their issues and clearly Roberts is picking their spots carefully. I do agree it is a big question looming out there if these two pitchers continue to have issues in key spots. Romo was supposed to be the 8th inning guy, or so I thought. Hatcher has been the go to guy of last resort.

Do we know if Roberts called the bunt by Taylor yesterday? I did not see or hear anything about it. At the time the play did not look that bad and had the bunt been better placed, the result might have been much different.

    • According to Andy McCullough at the LA Times, Dave Roberts called for the safety squeeze in the first inning. At the time, Chris Taylor was in a semi-slump, getting just three hits in his most recent 21 at bats.

    1. Joc Pederson (L) CF
    2. Corey Seager (L) SS
    3. Yasmani Grandal (S) C
    4. Cody Bellinger (L) LF
    5. Yasiel Puig (R) RF
    6. Chase Utley (L) 1B
    7. Chris Taylor (R) 2B

Justin Turner gets a day off. Grandal, who has been hot lately, slides up to #3.

  3. McCarthy better have his A game going. The giants only play the Dodgers tough, despite Cinci being swept, its only payback for their previous series where Cinci swept. DO NOT put Sergio Romo in this series, and especially not vs Posey. what kind of line up is this, bellinger in OF, Utley at 1B and Kiki at 3rd how many errors will there be? Lets GO DODGERS !

  4. No question the Giants have been a tough opponent for the Dodgers so far this season. Hopefully the Dodgers have what it takes to take this series. Leaving runners stranded on base will not get it done.

  5. This team is far too Jekyll and Hyde to be taken seriously.

They might also want to consider quitting shuffling starters in a 7-man rotation and just go with their best 5. No one thrives when they sit for 10 days for no reason.

  6. Beav’s post says it. To this point our guys are too hit and miss. I can only hope they settle down and start to gain some momentum.
