  1. Spring Training’s finally winding down.
After getting some reps in… Some of the players will head towards Los Angeles.
Others will stick around for tomorrows ballgame and yet still, others will stay behind for other reasons.

Corey Seager it has been reported, will join the team at Dodger Stadium for the final game of the Freeway Series.

  2. The only question I have about the starting rotation is whether there will be enough young guys that are ready to fill in for the old guys who “get injured”.

    Hill blister? bring up Urias
    McCarthy yips? bring up Buehler
Ryu shoulder? bring up Brock Brock (if he’s healthy)
    Maeda elbow? bring up Stripling

    • Wood is probably the first option.
Unless he can muster enough to bump Brandon today.

They took a flyer on Masterson. Signing him to a minor league deal, yesterday. I’m sure the wizard behind the controls has concerns as well.

  3. I just realized they’re gonna play two today
…although, I suspect both games will feature nameless-jerseys early.

Urias is starting against the Padres at Camelback Ranch-Glendale at 1:05 pm PT.

  4. New for 2017

    Blister Board Pick 3

At the start of every series..

    1) Pick the first player to hit a HR
    2) Pick the player who blisters the ball the farthest
    3) Pick the player who will hit the final HR of the series and reign upon the Blister Board heading into the next series.

Pick ’em correctly and the progressive and treasured “Bum Fund” will become yours…

*Disclaimer – The actual “Bum Fund” is in turn a progressive and collective assortment of band-aids worn by near-ace, Rich Hill.

    • I’m picking Bellinger to go yard first.
Bellingers bomb will also be the farthest of the day.
Van Slyke will hit the final bomb of the day.

    • Well, I’m off to see Dr. Red Legs…

I haven’t seen her since long before my surgery.

Her legs aren’t really red, they’re green. She served in the US Army before Medical School.

I’m certain after dialing her biscotti-a-scope in on me, she will prescribe me some KP duty.

  5. Everything I’ve seen has the Cubs winning the NL again. Looking at it on paper I guess I’d have to agree. Our starting eight and the bench match up well enough, but where they have the edge is with starting pitching. I think our BP is better now, but one through five, I think the starters is where they have an edge. Right now, on paper. Long time and long way to go to get to October and we’ll know then.

  6. Doc said…that she couldn’t hear me breathing from across the room, so she was happy. She also said I have lost weight. I told her she needed a check-up.

She was wondering if I stopped seeing her? I said, you told me not to come see you unless I needed something.

I really do like her :0)

Funny too…after the first visit…I didn’t think it was going to work out.

She told me I need to wear my CPAP thingy…
    plus
    I need to exercise more..

    • That was the plan…I took him out there and gave him my 60 degree sand-wedge, with 3 balls. Just after I made him watch some 3 year old on YouTube cracking balls on the course. He wouldn’t take his eyes off of the kid. Bubba has a plastic set of his own now. We have a little course that goes around he house (4 holes-142 total yards.) He has a little cart. I have to carry my bag :0) It’s still a tad bit chilly though…

  7. I read that one option for Wood, would be to send him down to AAA until someone else falters…

    My question to this, is…
Can Wood pitch well enough in AAA to stay afloat?

  8. Segedin reminds me of that other guy who blistered the ball in Spring, but failed to make the Opening Day roster.

    What was his name?

  9. Wood and the “B” team are not faring so well against the Reds. Meanwhile, Urias and the “A” team are holding back the Padres offense AND holding back their own offense simultaneously.

    • Wood has oranguslang 54 pitches so far…at what point does he settle in?
I don’t even trust the guy in the bullpen at this point.
Remind me again about his pedigree?
      What?
      Where?
      Who?
      Why?
      Wack!
      Reds score again…

  10. Meanwhile, Bobby Wilson smashes his fourth home run of the spring. Bobby really really wants to be a Dodger this year. Barnes may have to spend some more time in AAA.

  11. Skip out – pull tabs, are now being sold…

Pull the first regular player (no pitchers) to come out of a game and skip off to L.A….
