Dodgers at Yankee Stadium

The Dodgers visit the Yankees today at 4:05 pm PDT.  Rookie righty Jose De Leon will be the starting pitcher for the Dodgers, while the Yankees throw right hander Bryan Mitchell.  This is Mitchell’s third year in the majors, but only his fifth start.  Last year he was used mostly as a reliever, while this year he has been in the minor leagues most of the year.

Yankee Stadium has short porches down the right-field line and left-field line, with both being 314 feet from home plate.  Dodger hitters need to pound the ball there, including Utley, Seager, Turner, Gonzalez, Grandal, and Pederson.  The offense needs to wake up today, as they have scored a scant nine runs over the past four games.

  2. This front office and management is so wrapped up with the righty/ lefty idea that I would like to take both of my arms and pound them all right into the sand.
Whoever heard of simply playing the best or hottest hitters at the time?

  3. Another big series for the Dodgers as they try to get back on track and winning series. As much as I don’t like the DH, the Dodgers certainly should benefit by having an additional bat. And I suppose it is a good sign that people are complaining about the lineups; at the very least it means fans expect nothing less than a win every day. I will say I do not like these interleague games so late in the season (I actually don’t like the interleague games much at all) but this is the schedule the Dodgers have to play.

I must also comment about the expanded rosters and the impact this has on late season games. In the Dodgers’ case, all of the call ups have spent time at the major league level, much of it during this season. Every player the Dodgers have used this season has made some sort of contribution to the team’s success so it would not be surprising to see one of these players come up big before the season is over.

  4. I don’t really buy into the lefty righty match ups either and was surprised to see both Reddick and Pedersen were pinch hit for. However the Puig part worked out pretty well.

  5. It seems we now have the Puig we had hoped we were getting three years ago. If (there’s that word again)
he could just keep his head screwed on straight there wouldn’t be any talk at all about right field, it would be his.

  6. The Pantone 294 group was probably the best thing I ever saw at a Dodger game here in N.Y. I believe there were 1,300 of them that arrived here by plane. The sight( the beautiful Dodger blue and white, the best sight in the world, really stood out) of all those fans together in a N.Y ballpark was the most beautiful sight to behold to an out of town Dodger fan’s eyes. When they raised that flag the boos from the home town crowd was music to our ears.We loved it. Thanks a million.
