Lumpy says, But Wally! They’ve won two in a row!”

The Beav was unable to attend the meeting, as he was doing his best to make Mom and Dad proud honing his song making skills, while commingling with a clarinet girl at band practice.

  1. Beav has it right when he says it’s a rebuilding year. The Guggs reinvent history better than Winston Smith in 1984. It’s “not a rebuilding year and Vinny’s absence on TV is not hurting our brand.”

  2. I just read that Doc revealed “Julio Urias will get at least two more starts.” Ryu was scheduled to throw 60 pitches on Friday and McCarthy is scheduled to throw 50 pitches tonight.

    Tonight’s Dodger lineup:
    Utley 2B
    Seager SS
    Thompson LF
    Gonzalez 1B
    Kendrick 3B
    Pederson CF
    Grandal C
    Venable RF
    Kazmir P

    • Definitely time to unload Gonzalez, Grandal if anybody would take him, plus a couple of prospects if we could land Luceroy. Our catching situation has just become abysmal; of course, that’s only one among many abysmal situations. The Guggenholes and Front Office are beyond abysmal.

  3. Why too is anyone expecting a boost from two guys coming off major surgery? IF, and that’s a big if, they can even make it back, neither is going more than 5-5.1 innings on a good night. They’ll be no different than throwing Bolsinger and Urias out there. McCarthy wasn’t that good to begin with, and I doubt Ryu will ever be the same.

This team was destined for shit from the day the brain trust (and I use that term lightly) conceived it. I was just stupid for buying into the bullshit and thinking this pile of puss could win 90 games.

And does anyone think Kazmir will opt out of his contract at the end of the year? So now we’re stuck with that asshole for the next two seasons.

Don’t even get me started on AGon. Perhaps we should start calling him TalentGon.

  4. I saw a comment saying Roberts has to run the lineup past Friedman. Does anyone know anything about this? There has always been speculation, but I’ve never seen anything definite.

    • I believe it. I think that is why he got hired over managers with much more experience. I think he is a puppet. I also believe that is why Donny got the hell out. He got tired of the bullshit.

      Friedman and Zaidi suck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Baez is afraid to throw strikes down in the zone. I don’t blame him though. His control is so horrid that it’s inevitable one will float into the hitters power zone.

Grandals target last night was low inside and low outside. Out of the many pitches Baez threw, maybe, maybe two hit the target. The rest were way off, some by more than a fuckin’ yardstick.

  6. That’s the best this organization can muster in late innings of a tie ball game. A pitcher who’s afraid to throw the ball at the intended target because he has zero confidence it will come even remotely close.

Did you see Baez’s reaction when he got out of the 7th? He was flabbergasted! Every pitch he threw that inning sailed feet from where Grandal set up his glove.

    This isn’t a new thing either…

Get rid of him and bring back that backup catcher who threw 90 mph strikes…what was his fuckin’ name!!

  7. At least tonight we get to see Urias again. I’m a fan of good pitching. And it’s been entertaining to see this kid make small improvements each time out. What is he all of 19? What the he’ll were we doing at 19? I’m pretty certain I threw my last competitive pitch at 17. So I’m guessing I was throwing back suds at some hillbilly keggar in the Washington woods. I was a superstar though. Looking back they should of sculpted a drunken bobble head in my likeness. $5 bucks gets you a colored Solo cup and a commemorative Bobby Bobblehead. Come to think of it…maybe the bobbleheads shouldn’t of bared my likeness at all. They could of been part of a commemorative set though. The Bobby Bobblehead series. Circa 1981-1984! Sponsored by Old English Malt Liquor!
I envision this to be very similar to pulling up to the pump at your local Union 76! You know but instead of pumps there’s kegs with the commemorative bobbleheads upon the tops. Signage that alerts you to begin collecting now by purchasing the premium brand for just a few bucks more.

    • Kind of spun a little off target with that last comment.

My apologies to the young Urias.
      Go get ’em tonight kid!

    • I agree that Grandal isn’t pulling his offensive weight. Although, I believe Ellis becomes a free-agent in 2017. Even if he doesn’t I doubt he’s wearing a Dodger uniform under his catchers gear.

So, that would leave just the inexperienced Barnes behind the dish, pending a future acquisition. Barnes should get time once it’s certain this team is out of the playoff race. Besides Grandal isn’t the only player in the lineup who isn’t pulling his weight. In a few short days this subject will revert back to “The Cuban Missle ” The Cuban Swung and Missed the Ball”!

      • It sure does appear that the playoff chances for this year’s team rely on magical beans…so you may be correct in your assessment after all Wally.

  8. If you were in Washington, I’d have thought you were drinking Rainier Ale. When I was that age that’s what we used to get started.

    • I drank my share of that before my baseball career came to a close. Afterwards I had a job and could afford to venture out a bit. Someday’s we’d drink the Champagne of Beers, some days it was Mickey Large Mouths, someday’s we’d go with Michelob. But 40 ounces of Old English was considered the grain alcohol of suds,,,That shit fucked you up for $.99!

  9. I’m working on a new thread…Its part 2 of the Wally says, series!

Kahli for some reason your comment needed approval, which I recently did. I dont know why it did this though?

  10. When Seager struck out to end the game he finished with his average under .275. Now no one is hitting .275
Seager, Gonzalez, Puig, Utley and Thompson are hitting between .274-.250, Turner, Peterson and Kendrick are between .249-.200 and Grandal, Hernandez & Ellis are below .200,
