  1. I think seeing D.M. again was akin to giving our boys girls a big shot of estrogen…

I dare ’em to regain some good wood and bring it!!!

  2. If it was as simple as stopping Stanton…the problem would be solved just don’t throw him anything good to hit. He’s one guy. The team needs to regain that vibrant bounce in their giddy-up and stop playing like they’re wearing panty hose and high heels. Where’s the fire?

  3. Just look at the way RuPaul I mean Crawford played defense out in LF. She , it looked like he was chasing a run-away kite…He had no idea what was going on.

Before this we were getting solid play in LF by numerous fielders… RuPaul Crawford needs to bring some serious offense to make up the difference…

  5. Certainly didn’t see this series going the way it is going. Wonder if this is another example of the aftermath of playing those crazy games in Denver.

  6. I was reading the Dodgers have scored the second fewest runs in the league. Only San Diego has fewer.
Surely this lineup is more capable than this, though these things happen occasionally. I’m just hoping this doesn’t go on for long.

  7. Well it looks like Mattingly is undefeated going against the Dodgers. Now the Dodgers better make sure there aren’t any brooms around the house. I’m glad to see that it’s Maeda that will be out there, tonight, to try to avoid the sweep.

  8. Kazmir improved, he only allowed 2 runs in the first. What happened to that team that put 5 runs up in one inning in Colorado? Dont get it, like everyone else. Tonight Fernandez, it really isnt any easier.
I just cant stand that little grin on Mattingly’s face. The bases loaded in the 8th kinda fried me, I think I’ll have fish to eat today. and it might be Humble Pie for dessert!

  9. Don’t yell at me or hate me…but with the TV blackout staining the hands of this ownership group, I really don’t care if the Dodgers win or lose. Isn’t that terrible? And I mean that. I never would have foreseen that I would be apathetic about the Dodgers. Sure, I steal a few games on-line with these bizarre streaming sites…but I shouldn’t have to. The Guggs are TERRIBLE stewards of the sacred pastime. And they’re pretty weak at crafting a roster, as well.

  10. The Guggenholes are the worst thing ever done to baseball. They deserve to be tarred and feathered, blown up and forever exterminated. It’s too bad that the Dodgers wound up in the middle of such excrement.

  11. Maeda was impressive in Colorado, and he should give the team a good chance to win. Maybe we’ll get a couple of runs and the good version of the BP. That’s what I’m going with.

  12. kahli, I don’t think anyone is going to be down on you. I really don’t get how ownership continues to go along with this and allow the fans, their base, to stay pissed off for so long.

  13. Is Howie Kendrick still on the DL? ‘Cuz I don’t remember seeing him get a hit. Oh, he’s 3-for-his-last-35. He’s almost dropped to the level of Eugenio.

    • Poor Eugenio was hit in the head by a foul ball off the bat of the player who replaced him with the Giants on July 26, 2010. He never got another major league hit after that incident.

  14. The Dodgers are in a funk with both Puig and Gonzo slumping but shocking news about Dee Gordon and PED use leading to an 80 game suspension is even more unbelievable.

  15. True the PED thing with Dee is shocking, then again he goes to the marlins and well maybe he feels he has to bolster and look how his BA went up! Last nights game we took advantage of first inning jitters, but Maeda went just a bit too long ( and that will be a problem as the season goes on); but Baez was not the one to come in from the Pen, Yikes!, and a very uncharacteristic base running blunder by Utley screwed the 8th inning almost Rally. Was really impressed with Fernandez.

  16. In the past we had players who could out slug the opponents, those teams in the 70’s, later Jeff Kent and Shawn Green. Now we don’t seem to have anyone who can do that. So the way forward is clear. I’ve seen some talk of restarting the Fernandez trade talks, but to hell with that. Trade for Stanton.

On a more serious note, there is nothing to do but wait out these doldrums. Again.

  17. “In an interview with SportsNet, he (Dee Gordon) maintained he did not know how the drug entered his system.”

What a tired, clichéd answer. Own it, Dee. And this on the heels of Arrieta’s dominant run and GM Epstein’s, “Jake works harder than anyone in baseball.” I’m not casting any suspicions at Arrieta–I couldn’t care less about him or the Cubs–but Lance Armstrong worked harder than anybody, too….while taking PEDs. Ryan Braun blames the test taker, ruins the guys professional life, and then cops to the whole thing–guilty as charged. Dee Gordon will serve his 80 games, but the record books will show him as a batting champion. If guys can make bank and rack up a few awards along the way, they’ll continue to benefit from PEDs, while not knowing how these chemicals entered their bodies, you understand.

  18. I went to bed a 1:22 AM ET,unaware of anything but the sweep. I was shocked when I found out this morning that Dee Gordon was suspended for PEDs. I was even more surprise that the news made my morning newspapers.
It’s going to be a very, very interesting week with the Giants over here at Citi Field.
